rooibos and snow [Jan. 11th, 2009|11:48 am]
Hello, 2009! It seems like I've waited until the month is a third through to make any "hey it's a new year" type comments online. I got back from Edmonton last week from a vacation that was ridiculously lovely, ridiculously busy, and very unproductive. Well, unproductive in terms of art and all the art-related projects that I had brought with me to work on. 500 blank sheets of paper were flown across the country and then flown back again, and I'm still kind of freaked out about that.

However, I did get a lot of work done on my knitting and handmade presents! I was pleased this year with the amount of items that Dorian and I managed to make for people, and a lot of them were new things that we hadn't really tried before, so I figured that I would post here some very hastily and blurrily documented items that have been created for our very dear friends and family members over the holidays.

I guess I should mention that I did my very first screenprinting on fabric:

and many more photos of clothing, glasses, and a beard )

Inspired by Jon's song-a-month motivator, I've decided to try and create a painting or a print (or ideally both) every month. That doesn't sound like a lot, but I've been trying to get a portfolio together recently, and I sure as heck don't have 12 pieces that I am really happy with. It is time for that to change! I'll be going into inkstorm next week.
