Expeditions and Adventures!
After weeks and weeks, we've finally finished the newest radar friend / sonar gang anthology! In fact, it is also the first radar friend / sonar gang anthology! It's pretty fricken exciting.

The book is called Expeditions and Adventures, and features six comics by Jordyn Bochon, Tim Carpenter, Lydia Fu, Kim Hoang, Mark Lee, Heather Verdin and myself. It is 7" square and has 48 whopping pages full of some fantastic adventures! jordyn and heather have already posted preview pages from their most excellent comics over at their journals -- you should check 'em out if you haven't already!
Here's some blurry photos (sorry) of the front and back of the book -- I was disappointed in the paper selection, which is why the colours aren't quite what I'd like them to be, but c'est la vie.

There's a pretty great variety in the stories, from fantasy to pirates to adventures in loooove -- mine is based on the true story of the date in 1960 upon which there was the only ever manned excursion down to the deepest part of the oceans -- the Challenger Deep in the Marianas Trench. I'm still really excited about the story, it's a pretty fantastic one. It involves the Piccard family, a bunch of explorers/inventors/hydronauts/aeronauts whose descendants are still making innovations in such fields. Auguste Piccard, the man who built the submarine that made the journey (and was piloted by his son Jacques) was Herge's inspiration for the character of Professor Calculus in Tin Tin. SO AWESOME! In any case, I could go on forever about it. But here's a preview page instead:

The inkwash didn't photocopy well (as expected), but ah well.
If you'd like to get your hands on one of these, they're in Edmonton and will be in Vancouver as well before the week is out, or you can let one of us know that you'd like to buy a copy ($5 Canadian + shipping) and we can send one your way!
