homemade bread is the best bread
So, as documented in that hourly comic from earlier this week, I did some screenprinting over the weekend. This is part of my attempt to make a print a month (I am counting this one as January still since I designed it and coated the screen for it in January) and learn more about what makes a good print design along the way.

I wasn't really happy with these when I finished printing them, though they turned out better than the last prints I was unhappy with in December. The good thing is that I think I know what I would do differently next time -- I'm looking forward to the next one. Onward and upward!

This was also an attempt to use up more of my glow-in-the-dark ink, though that layer had some definite issues when printing and a lot of the details got lost on most of the prints. Oh well!

I did these on three colours of paper, postcard size. This was actually created with a screenprinted postcard exchange in mind, which was organized back in October when I went to a 3-colour print skillshare workshop, but which I had neglected to contribute to until now.

Since I have a bunch of them, I think I will take five and send them off to people in the mail -- leave a comment if you're interested!

Funny. I'm eating my homemade bread right now as I read this. Go whole wheat!

Dude, I want one of those sweet prints. I'll think of something to send you too; we could have a swap?

whole wheat power! Usually I make the bread (or at least the dough) in the breadmaker, but today I busted out all the stops and did it all by hand. soooo tasty.
A swap would be lovely! Email me your address and I shall send one out to you: occasionally.colleen at gmail.com

That's cool!
I am silkscreening a 3 colour (actually made to look like four) print this weekend for a show next week. I am still trying to figure out the color separation. It'll be about 10"x12" on butcher-like paper.

So cool !
The "glow in the dark thing" I have in my place is a pretty sticker of Agnes Quill. Last time my mother came to visit us and slept at home, she had to hide the sticker or she couldn't sleep. I'm laughing thinking her discovering one glowing thing with bugs. ^_^

Haha, that would terrify me too! I like seeing my jar of glow-in-the-dark screenprinting ink in the dark though, it makes me think of a cozy yet ineffective night light!

These look real great! I love how the glow in the dark ink is a little transparent!

At first I wished it would be less transparent, but I think I'm ok with it now. It would be more transparent, actually, but I mix it with white ink to help it show up more in the light.
