I've had these drawings sitting around for a few weeks and haven't had a chance to post them yet. So now I'm taking some time out of pinning tickets together at work to post them! Mostly it is lifedrawing and experimenting with watercolour/crayons.

And this last one is actually from yesterday. King's is running an amazing free and excellent lifedrawing session every two weeks, so I'm trying to go as often as I can! I really need the practice.

Beautiful! I love the colors of the house; light blue and orange. *pop* Magnifique!

thanks rebecca! I always liked blue and orange together but for a long time it made me think of the Edmonton Oilers.

Uh, I think it's incredibly of me that when I read the header title I instantly thought "High School Musical???", hahaha!

I really like the two figure drawings. You draw beautiful hands and feet. Looking forward to seeing more!

hahaha, the best part is that it does stand for high school musical! It's the big year-end show at the theatre where I work (whyyyyyyy?!) and today was the cast's first day in so we all had to wear these shirts that said HSM in big letters.

Haha! It is popular! Halifax School Musical.

I've never actually seen HSM but I feel like it's something I can enjoy. Bright colours, high school romance, music and dance numbers, inspirational basketball games.... sounds like a lot of the comics I read.

(BTW, my post before is apparently missing a word. It is "telling" of me that HSM = High School Musical.)

We watched the first movie at work and the songs are all pretty bad. It is what it is, which is a weird, mediocre Disney made-for-tv movie that somehow aquired a cult following of 14-year-olds!

hahaha, I am exposed to so much HSM paraphernalia at work, but I have never seen it, I can't believe they made it a musical for the stage! The 14 year olds all think it is stupid, its cult following is mostly comprised of 6-8 year olds with a few of the more immature 9-10 year olds thrown in, which is totally weird since it is about 15-18 year olds.

I know, it's really weird how it's all about the 6-8's! They have filled up all the matinees every weekend already and daily we get grumpy parents who are worried that their kid won't be able to see from the back row of the balcony.
The best call I've ever gotten was a lady who was like "Is this HSM 4? No? Well, is it the same cast? No? Okay, well then it MUST be on ice? Really? No? Then what is the point of doing it?"

Thanks bocher! I was so happy to find this group, it looks like they might be a steady one even out of the schoolyear, which is unusual around these parts it seems.
I look forward to hearing your voiiiice!

Very nice Colleen! I especially like the house. Kinda reminds me of Carson Ellis but with crayons.

Also, great feet on those last two!

I believe her name is Miriam or something similar? She's a king's student I think. I don't know that the likeness is very good though.

I am going to once again buck the crowd and say that your forest drawing is way awesome. I love the way it just melts down into one big amorphous green...tunnelmountain thing.

Love that crayon house. The colors and the everything about it looks really good. Also, not importantly, it reminds me of a cult house I once went to.
