march of snow
March print! I made this one a small (4.25 x 5.5) postcard as well. I was so stuck on what to do for this print, I went through way too many half-developed thumbnails (some of which I might use later) without anything good, and ended up having to rent the screen I had coated for an extra week because of my indescision. Eventually I demanded of myself that I just print SOMETHING, and here's what it is.

This one is on very slightly different paper colour. Does it deserve its own image? Probably not, but here it is.

I keep meaning to get a store up and running, but things have been busy and I haven't had a chance, but if you feel like having one of these prints (or that other one), you can paypal $5 to occasionally.colleen at gmail.com and I will send one your way!

These are really cute and kinda sad. Lonely chairs.

That swing is too reckless in his checkers moves, if you ask me. (But seriously this is a lovely print.)

You should set up an Etsy store!

I had thought about Etsy, but they take a cut I believe? I'm also not really sure about how it works. I definitely have the means to set up a simple paypal shop, but it's one of those things that is on the "meaning to do" list which often stretches out over years.

You should talk to Emily about it, she set up an Etsy shop not too long ago.

This is beautiful! Is it a screenprint? We just did screenprints this term and I am not impressed. At all. I'm a drypoint girl - far messier :D

I highly reccomend http://www.coriandr.com - I have my shop there and while they still charge for listings, it's only 20p with no time limit. Not sure about what they take when you sell an item but Mat (the owner) is considering abolishing such fees which is pretty amazing seeing as even ebay charge for selling an item!

Indeed it is. What is drypointing? I haven't heard of it but it sounds intriguing!
And thanks for the shop recommendation!

It's done by scratching into thin plastic (or metal but plastic is easier and it doesn't sound so horrific!) with a point. There are specific tools, but you can just use a compass point.

The lines are slightly fuzzy as you get a 'burr' on one side - basically what you scratch out balls up on one side of your line. It's nice.

And inking them is joyous - so messy!

oooh, neat! I think I have done a "kids crafts" version of that technique on foam stuff with ballpoint pens at one point....do you need to buy fancy plastic or metal stuff to do it properly?

Also I really want one of these on the pinkish paper - do I need to send more for overseas shipping?

I think if you send $6 total that should cover it!
